Mr.Li - Stroke
NAME: Mr. Li SEX: Male AGE: 67 COUNTRY: China FIRST VISIT TO THE HOSPITAL: December 2005 REASON FOR BEING IN THE HOSPITAL: He suffered a stroke four years ago. DIAGNOSIS: Cerebral Hemorrhage BEFORE THE TREATMENT: Mr Li could not walk or stand easilty by himself. He could not walk a significant distance. He could not move his right hand or his right leg. He speech was impaired, making him speak slowly. A year of rehabilitation after the stoke, Mr Li had no improvement in neither his speech nor mobility. THERAPY: Mr Li underwent a combination of neurotrophic factors and medicines to stimulate the production of neural stem cells in the hypothalamus. AFTER THE TREATMENT: April 20th, 2006 After the first month of treatment, he was able to move his right hand but not open it. After the second month of treatment, he was able to open his hand. He could walk 20 steps without help, and walk in a straight line. His speech has slighty improved.
