Stem cell treatment for left lung cancer
Name: Mr. Liu
Age: 77
Gender: Male
Country: China
Diagnosis: Left lung cancer
Treatment method: Stem cell treatment
Background
Mr. Liu, a 77 year old male patient from China, was admitted into Beijing Tiantan Puhua International Hospital in March 2008, due to left lung cancer. At the beginning of 2008, he presented chest distress and pain without obvious cause. He didn’t pay enough attention to his symptoms and did not search for a treatment. In February 2008, the symptoms got worse and were accompanied with a hoarse voice, cough, and expectoration. Blood was noted in his sputum. He received anti-inflammatory treatment, but his symptoms did not obviously improve. He then was transferred to Beijing Tiantan Puhua International hospital. A thoracic CT scan taken after admission demonstrated: Lump shadow of soft tissue was noted in the apicoposterior segment of superior lobe of left lung, considered as peripheral lung cancer, accompanied with metastasis to mediastinal lymph node. Considering that Mr. Liu was old, his family refused to have further examinations. He was then admitted into the oncology department of our hospital to a combined treatment that based on stem cell therapy, with a diagnosis of “Left lung cancer, accompanied with metastasis to mediastinal lymph node”.
Medical condition pre-stem cell treatment
Before stem cell treatment, Mr. Liu suffered from a hoarse voice, cough, and expectoration. There was blood in his sputum. He felt distress and pain in his chest. He complained about short breath. Since he got the disease, no obvious weight loss was noted. On his physical examination, the breath sound of left lung was a little rough. No other abnormal findings were noted.
Treatment
Seven courses of combined treatment based on stem cell therapy
Medical condition post-stem cell treatment
After two courses of combined treatments based on stem cell therapy, Mr. Liu felt much better than before. His hoarse voice was improved compared with the prior condition. He also saw great improvement on his cough and expectoration. He suffered from a slight cough and expectoration only some of the time, and there was no blood in his sputum. He didn’t complain about chest distress and pain. His shortness of breath disappeared almost entirely. He had a good appetite and sleeping pattern. He also had a good mental spirit. As the good effect he got, Mr. Liu had five more courses of the combined treatment. After the treatment, his symptoms had all gone away. No cough, no expectoration, no short breath, no chest distress, nor chest pain. He felt very good in general. Repeat thoracic CT scan implied that the occupying lesions of left lobe and mediastinal lymph node disappeared, with slight pulmonary fibrosis locally. Mr. Liu insists on stem cell treatment for consolidating and maintenane therapy. Now, his condition is stable and he has a renewed and high quality of life.
