Lung cancer
Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world. It is the leading cause of cancer deaths in men and women of the United States. The risk of lung cancer has great relevant with smoking. People who smoke have greater risk than people who do not smoke. In the early stage of lung cancer, typical symptoms and signs do not occur. When lung cancer deteriorates, the symptoms appear. The following symptoms and signs may be included:
- Chest pain
- Dyspnea, or short of breath
- Changes in the nature of a chronic cough
- Hemoptysis, or coughing up blood
- Dysphonia, or hoarseness
- Wheezing
- Weight loss
Treatments for lung cancer depend on many factors, such as the stage and type of lung cancer, the general medical condition of sufferers, and personal preferences. Treatments available are: surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, stem cell therapy, and targeted drug therapy. Sufferers may received one or more treatments.
