For Patients From Overseas

1. Acquiring Visa to China.

You should visit the closest Chinese embassy and apply for a regular visa (tourist visa) to China. In some countries the regular visa is for 1 month, in others – for 2 months. If you will get only one month visa, we will help you to extend the visa from here. It’s a simple procedure and you will get your extended visa in 7 days.

If you need an Invitation letter for your visa application – please let us know and we will send you one.

A complete list of Chinese missions abroad can be found at: http://www.fmprc.gov.cn/eng/wjb/zwjg/default.htm.

2. When to come?

The best time to arrive is at the beginning of the week. It would be the most convenient time for us and for the hospital staff, and you will not have to wait a whole weekend to start all the procedures of admission, doctors’ visits and tests. Regularly, all those procedures will start at the next day of your arrival or even at the same day if you arrive in the morning.

3. Money:

The current rate of exchange can be found at:

http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html

Your extra expenses (shopping, eating, site seeing…) depend on how you will spend your free time… It is an opportunity to see and enjoy Beijing, its markets, restaurants and cultural assets (like the Forbidden City or the Great Wall) and tourism can be expensive anywhere…

We recommend that you will bring with you between 1000 USD to 2000 USD a month in cash, or available by international Credit card.

It is possible to open a local bank account very easily, and use a local ATM card.

You can change USD or withdraw cash with international credit card in the Bank Of China near the hospital.

Autumn is usually clear with cool temperatures, while winter is dry and, at times, bitterly cold with temperatures dropping below 5 F (-15 C). Spring is usually dry but very windy, while summer is rainy and hot with temperatures soaring above 100 F (38 C).

6. Service staff and coordinators

The service department is here for your comfort and to ensure a smooth stay in China. Before you arrive in China, you will be assigned an English speaking service coordinator who will be in charge of you all throughout your stay at the hospital. He/She will pick you up from the airport and help you with everything from translating to going to the supermarket. Should you have inquiries or problems that the service coordinators can not help you with please feel free to contact the service manager at any time.
